Ramesh Chaurasia-Clean Energy
Energy is the driving force for all of our lives. As time is passing and technological variations have touched almost every aspect of our lives, it feels to be somehow inappropriate not to transform our energy resources in a sustainable manner for a better future.
Let me share my perspective about the same.
The past v/s present scenario
It’s a fact that all activities in the entire world take place with the help of a catalyst energy source. These energy sources can be categorized as either renewable, non-renewable, reversible, or non-reversible. For years we have been using the traditional, primitive, and non-renewable resources of energy to meet our needs. A major part of this non-renewable form of energy usage was taken over by fossil fuels like coal, petroleum, etc. to generate heat, friction, and even run machines to work alongside manual labor working to achieve the desired results.
However, a break in the trend that has been continuing for years is noticed as we have switched to comparatively safer and more sustainable resources of energy to accomplish our goals in the field of energy usage. Renewable and reversible sources of energy that are abundantly available to us by nature are perfect to be used in order for almost all the activities to take place efficiently. Some examples of renewable sources of energy are- Solar energy, tidal energy, hydro energy, wind energy, etc.
The global stand on the affordable and clean energy project
The United Nations Organisation gave the subject of affordable and clean energy a significant place under the title of Goal 7 which intricately deals to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
Therefore, it is absolutely right to say that the apex global organization was successful in embedding the importance of the topic of affordable and clean energy within our minds, thus, making us realize how investing in such a field can be beneficial for our future.
Challenges to face
Now, the question is, if every nation is intellectually and financially capable to invest in modern resources? The answer to this question is popularly known to be negative. Henceforth, in my opinion, practically, the issue of formulating capabilities for almost all nations must be resolved first.
An effective solution to this is granting help to the underdeveloped and developing nations on an economic as well as intellectual front.
Spreading awareness and providing knowledge towards the modern ways that help in extracting energy can be highly beneficial for nations to utilize the already available resources of energy in an effective manner to extract more energy.
The renewable sources of energy are far better than primitive and non-renewable sources of energy in almost every way of comparison. However, one major challenge to cope up with is the problem related to finance.
The costs of setting up a solar energy system and hydropower plants are extremely high for any one investor to invest in. Furthermore, high initial costs of the establishment of such plants are added up with regular and frequent maintenance costs. This makes it a major factor to look into for investors.
As far as I understand the gravity of the subject, a solution that pops up from my mind is working on the principle of collectivity and unity.
The matter concerning the use of affordable and clean energy is global and not domestic, individual, or personal. Therefore, solutions and support must be mustered collectively, in accordance with all.
Financial assistance, knowledge-based support, and intellectual giveaway must be presented by all nations, depending on their economic, cultural, and social abilities.
To sum up
Energy has been the ultimate need since forever and it will always be that way even in the future ahead. Therefore, it is extremely important for us to act in a righteous manner in order to transform the usage of energy resources in a way that’s sustainable, safe, and secure.
